Motorcycle Engagement at Antioch Park – Stacie & Jon

Stacie and Jon introduced me to Peanut Butter Whiskey, so I’m not being dramatic when I say I would die for them.

These two are downtown OP dwellers so we made plans to head out to their space for photos. They are self-professed cuddle bugs and that made them the absolute easiest to photograph. After we walked down around town, we headed out with their motorcycle out to Antioch Park to finish off their engagement session. I think it was the closest I’ve ever been to a motorcycle. Then, in between all this? We stopped for Peanut Butter Whiskey shots. Holy. Freaking. Shit. It was delicious. I’m not a big sweets gal. I’m also not a big peanut butter gal. (Although if you get me a fun shaped Reese’s I’m down to clown). The whiskey was probably one of the best things I’ve ever tasted, though. My birthday is in 2 weeks. I wouldn’t mind a bottle.

Back to these two. They are probably my favorite couple to have ever filled out a questionnaire for me. It was honest, hilarious, and reminded me that the best thing you can do is just have fun with your partner. They’re getting married in Topeka next December and once we found out we were color palette trends, I was convinced it was meant to be. Granted, hers is entirely more appropriate than my middle of August wedding, but that’s okay. Stacie is taking a page right out of the “Your day, your way” handbook. Her dress will be burgundy, she’s getting married at her venue because of all the Christmas decor, and it will be beautiful.

Before you look through these photos, I’ll leave you with my favorite line from their questionnaire.

Do you have nicknames for each other?
Our nicknames change daily, though Stacie has taken an affinity to calling Jon, Jonalyn.

You should have seen his face when I mentioned it.

What a wonderful story, and beautiful photos!

Choosing Tay to photograph our wedding was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. Both my husband and I are awkward and uncomfortable with being the center of attention and photographed, obviously a bad position to be in on your wedding day. However, Tay made something typically uncomfortable for us into something fun and easy! The photographs are beautiful and captured a lot of special moments as well as the energy of our dance floor at our reception!!

Tay is simply the best! Her work is STUNNING, and we're so lucky to have found her. We had a blast during our engagement shoot -- Tay instantly makes you feel so comfortable, as if you've known her for years. Our family and friends loved the photos as much as we did. It was important to us that we find an experienced photographer who knows how to photograph people of color and is LGBTQ-friendly. Tay absolutely fits the bill. We're so excited to work with her again at our wedding in April. Also, brides-and-grooms-to-be: Check out her blog for some amazing tips! It has become a touchstone guiding us through this crazy process.

I’m so glad I trusted Tayanna with my wedding day! She not only exceeded my expectations for what I thought our wedding photos could look like, but she had a beautiful sneak peek for me that night! The sneak peek was enough to make me sob. Then the rest of the photos came only 9 days later! I could go on forever. If you need a photographer that’s fun, energetic and on her game sooooo hard, you need Tayanna Harris. She’s killer!!!
