In 2018, I had more LGBTQ+ couples than ever come to me after being rejected by another wedding vendor. I hated it.
In order to do my part in stopping this, I decided to put together a list of Kansas City wedding vendors where people would not have to worry about experiencing this heartbreak. This list is also great for people who are making the decision to only hire inclusive vendors for their big day. I have tried to make it as simple as possible with direct links to either Facebook Pages or websites where contact info can be found. Please let me know if any vendor on this list you have experienced a moment in which they were not an ally as this list is only as accurate as the owners and client reviews can make it.
I have also added an asterisk, *, to any vendors that I have personal experience with and would willingly and lovingly send any of my clients to. (The photo below was taken by me and is at Uptown Theater.)
Vendors, I am currently looking for more of these categories to add to my list. If you provide these services, please e-mail me at: mail@hey-tay.com
Calligraphy/Design, DJs, Bartending, Hair Stylists, & Male Wedding Attire, Dinner Catering
I am currently not taking on any more photographers.
NOTE: This list is not anywhere near comprehensive and there are amazing vendors all over Kansas City. In an effort to keep this list concise and intimate, I have tried to take on only a few highly recommended vendors and vendors I personally can vouch for. Thank you for your understanding.
All vendors added to this list must be at the recommendation of a couple in the LGBTQ+ community if there is no other undeniable proof available (via website, reviews, etc.) that you are LGBTQ+ friendly. Earlier this year there was an incident with a nominated vendor who turned down a couple. This couple did not find them via my list, but they were a part of the list and I never want that to happen. If you loved your wedding vendor and would like them to be added to this list, please e-mail mail@hey-tay.com. I will continue to try to keep this list proportionate and will wait list any vendors that I currently have an overwhelming amount of in comparison to others. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
This list is up to date as of Q3 of 2020
