Best Kansas City Wedding Venues

If you’re wondering what the best Kansas City Wedding Venues are and what they have to offer, look no further.

The venues that had public pricing and seating information is available under the photos. These are all venues that I photographed at least once and would love to return to. The staff was kind, I was impressed with the ease of access as a wedding photographer, and I genuinely think it has something to offer engaged folks.

I tried to include several types of venues as well and will continue to update this as I fall in love with more wedding venues in Kansas City.

Pavilion Event Space

Starting Price: $4500 in off season
Fits approximately 300 guests

I went to this venue once for a retirement party when I was in my preteen years. This venue looked NOTHING like this. It’s in an unassuming spot, right off of 40 highway in Independence, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t shining. Their outdoor ceremony space is completely unique and provides amazing spots for photos. They have a gorgeous open air chapel. Their indoor space is elegant and has a TON of room for guests.

Legacy at Green Hills

Starting Price: $3500 for off-season
Fits approximately 250 guests

The Legacy at Green Hills is a place I highly considered for own wedding. The staff is friendly AND there’s a freaking airbnb attached. Nothing sounds more fun than having a sleepover with your friends before your wedding. There’s plenty of space for everyone to get ready and I even had two brides get ready in the same spot because that’s how easy it was for them to avoid each other. There’s so many spaces to take photos around the property and the venue is off a pretty calm road. We were able to take photos in the street no problem. The venue also allowed us to take their engagement photos there. In the dead of winter, the place was just as pretty as the day of the wedding.

La Villa Kansas City

Starting Price: $3500 for off-season/days
Fits approximately 150 guests

This was my wedding venue! These photos were taken by our photographer that we flew in from Santa Cruz, Molly Gilholm, but I’ve been DYING to photograph a wedding here since ours. There are so many vignettes to make the space look beautiful and different. We loved that it was minimal and yet beautiful architecturally so that we needed minimal decorations. They had an open vendor policy and it’s close to a ton of hot spots for photos.

The Baeur

I have loved The Bauer for years. It has a really gorgeous industrial look with a pink getting ready room and exposed brick for your ceremony and reception. Both getting ready rooms are gorgeous even though the designated “bride’s” room has more light to work with. You can get most things through the space, and you can dress this place up as little or as much as you’d like.

Weston Red Barn Farm

Weston Red Barn Farm has two options for barns. The photo of the inside of the barn featured above is from the “lower barn” also known as the older of the two. If the newer or upper barn is anywhere near as beautiful as the lower barn, I would like them to let me to know how to get married in both. When I photographed there, there was a shuttle involved as it is a little out of the way and it is open in a way much like Louisville Cider where there are patrons and the people who run the store are so nice. I got a couple of cider slushies while we were working and it was one of the best parts of the day. (Besides the marriage, of course)

Kansas City Public Library

Starting Price: $2000 for off-season
Fits approximately 200-250 guests

Listen up book lovers. I didn’t even know this was an option! If I did? Better believe this place would have been on my short list. You have access to their beautiful rooftop, and there are the famous giant books on the side of library that are perfect for portraits. They can seat 150-250 depending on the space rented and their prices begin at $2000 for rentals. The couple pictured chose to have their reception at Tom’s Town Distillery so I unfortunately do not have any photos of their reception space, but you can find more here & believe me it is beautiful. They have an exclusive caterer and specific alcohol policies, so if you want to pick all your own vendors this isn’t the place for your reception. If you love a place that will do the work for you? Here’s your spot!

Uptown Theater

Everyone knows Uptown as one of the most beautiful concert and event venues there are. Especially in Kansas City. But did you know you can get married here? Directly in the theater? You do your bouquet toss or your entrance from a way up high balcony, they have a caterer built into the venue, and there are also getting ready rooms for both spouses to be. Their prices weren’t readily available for me, but I believe they seat somewhere around 300 (a conservative estimate) and a nice wooden dance floor is put down for you when it’s time to party. Also pictured is the movie poster section you can put your own personal photos into. It’s truly a versatile venue with a dramatic flair that is perfect for most couples.

KC National Golf Course

This Golf Course that doubles as an amazing event venue is gorgeous. It’s perfect for events if you want a classic and timeless feel. For this wedding there was a tent up for this hot day and we were able to cool down very easily. You can walk the grounds for gorgeous portraits and the getting ready rooms are large and feature a ton of available privacy.
