Answer? Nothing. Lauren, Cole & I headed out there this past weekend with a bottle of champagne, the top layer of their cake, and a dream. A dream to photograph the best damn anniversary session there ever was. Especially since a Nelson atkins Museum Anniversary Session is a sight to behold.
I think we accomplished it.
Lauren’s friend gave them a bunch of milestone gifts with the champagne being the last, so it got its own space in these photos as well as the coveted 1-year cake layer. I love asking my brides how they felt about the top layer a year later, and I’ve never gotten a positive review until now. Lauren and Cole shared lemon cake on their wedding day and froze it ’til day of the session and said it was still very freaking delicious.
Lauren’s also a photographer! If you’d like to see her work (and I know you would) click here! I always get nervous as heck every time I photograph another creative, but they’re also some of my favorite sessions to do. My wacky ideas are never questioned, they pretty much pose themselves, and I know I’m biased but the photos always come out beautifully.
So happy anniversary, Lauren & Cole! I’m so excited to see what your future brings for your marriage and your business as you’re so talented!
