Shanon came to me as a friend of Kelsey Diane, who I photograph with constantly. I’ll admit there’s a bit of pressure when you’re taking care of a fellow photographer’s friend, but I honestly had so much fun. During our consult, we both complained about all the standard wedding things that are expected of us. We swapped vendors for our planning process & clicked instantly. It’s rare to find people with similar attitudes about traditions and unneeded costs, but it’s really cool when you do! We even have the same caterer (which was amazing because we didn’t have time to taste our actual meals. My fiancé just loves the market)
Shanon and Matt met on OkCupid! Which is awesome because so did my fiancé and I. There’s a wonderful art to online dating where you can get to know people first. Even if it’s intimidating. They met up for the first time a UMKC and eventually had their first “real” date at Bucca Di Beppo. Where later, Matt proposed! Which is amazing, honestly.
I asked Shanon what she couldn’t have done without on her wedding day and her answer was her flowers Which were beautiful. And as for her advice for currently/future engaged couples? Go on date nights! She said everything easily became about the wedding and you have to make an effort to stay connected as a couple
